Chantal Rialin, President of FDFA (Women for Saying It, Women for Acting), is pleased to announce the publication of the updated edition of the association’s Advocacy Paper.
This document was drafted by Albertine Roux, Master’s student in Law and Project Officer Intern for the Prevention of Violence Against Women, with contributions from Asanya Rey, Sciences Po intern, under the supervision of Soraya Almansa, Executive Director of FDFA.
The FDFA Advocacy Paper 2025 is a key strategic document that sets out and supports the cause defended by our association. It highlights the realities experienced by women with disabilities while reaffirming FDFA’s values, commitments, and long-standing advocacy.
The Advocacy Paper also presents, in a clear and evidence-based manner, the policy changes we call for in response to a society that remains far from achieving full equality.
Our main recommendations include :
- Ensuring sustainable, long-term funding for FDFA’s activities and services ;
- Official recognition of the specific forms of violence experienced by women with disabilities ;
- Improving accessibility to emergency services, healthcare, justice, housing, and employment ;
- Making disability and gender-based violence training mandatory for all relevant professionals ;
- Promoting the representation, participation, and appointment of women with disabilities in political, public, and decision-making bodies.
This updated Advocacy Paper reflects today’s social and political challenges and provides a strong foundation for strengthening our collective action in favour of the rights of women with disabilities.
We warmly encourage you to read it and share it widely.
